Cannot see how many welds there are between the square hitch tube and the round pipe in front of it, but with that much torque on the square tube from the drop hitch I'd want plenty of welds connecting the two together. Also, have you doubled the trailer hitch channels?
There is 3 large weld areas from round tube to hitch plus some small flat iron plates to fill in the gaps that are also welded, the trailer channel you are talking about is a 4 x 2 thick gauge tube, so far its holding up well.
