OK, Gotta Ask

There are many many people who simply do not use their in house facilities. Just do a search about how many people place used toilet paper in a bag instead of down the toilet for some insite into the lack of understanding among a lot of RVers

I like to have more room than our shower provides. I'm 6'3" and not a skinny guy so eventhough our shower in the 5th wheel is large, I like the room the CG showers provide. In addition, no shortage of hot water so I can take a long relaxing shower.

Walking through the cold doesn't bother me as long as I know I can get warm in the shower or back at the RV.

6 gallon hot water tank.. is a 2 minute shower... my opinion.

my wife can not wash and rinse her hair with 6 gallons...

Unless someone on this forum is there and is one of them folks you'll just get the same old stories, guesses etc.

My kids love to take looooong showers so they use the campground facilities. The DW and I uae the fivers. Its a matter of preference.

My TT had a large shower, used it all the time. My old MH had a small shower and never used it. New MH has a larger shower and I will be using it. Most CG I've been to have nice handicapped showers with room to undress/dress on bench. Can't do that standing any more.

Showers and don't want to have to go dump tanks so often.

Have you got so much junk that its stored in the shower?
Are afraid that if you use your facilities it'll ruin resale value?
Do you even know how to use your own facilities?
Do you not have a sewer hose so you can dump?
Do you know how to dump?
Do you have a problem and they're inoperative?

Yes there is: LOW flow, Small size, The campground showers are kind of small for my six foot plus 300 pound minus body, The RV;s shower is even smaller.. Plus the water heater... SIX GALLONS,, Not much of a shower let me tell you.

And that's why I trudge to the park shower. Small size,, low flow and little hot water.

But yes, I do use my shower when there is a reason to do so, even in a campground. (Epically if the CGs shower is a bit lacking on heat).

If you really, actually want to know, stop them and ask. That's the only way you'll find out.

For those of us with propane-only WHs we're conserving propane for the furnace. 2 weeks ago we were in the low 20s(F) for a week. You'd be surprised about how much gas a propane furnace consumes - even with space heaters running flat out and the tstat set to 66F. This is a 30 amp park. Yes, using one's own shower is preferred. I'm a bit lucky in that the propane-only WH in the MH is not in the basement. It's in the house. I don't have to worry about it freezing from not running it.

This morning a propane company that delivers to the RV park said that there is a shortage of propane to the area (Forks, WA to Port Townsend, WA). The cold snap 2 weeks ago drained reserves. We have another cold snap coming through. I expect a spike in the price of propane. I have an external bottle in addition to the onboard tank. I should be about to ride out this next cold snap w/o needing propane, but I'll be showering at the CG, just to make my propane last longer.
