Some question regarding in-tank fuel pump replacement

So, all y’all have me convinced that my engine problem, explored in the earlier thread titled Unexpected engine failure (shut down) 1994 Ford 460 V8, is a bad fuel pump. I’m not sure which route to go...

Pulling fuel through a dead pump will not flow very well. The pump may have trouble flowing enough fuel to make it run properly.

BTW: Does anyone know what the pump pressure is supposed to be for Ford? I know for GM, throttle body injection was only 15 psi. The higher 40 psi pumps weren't used till they went to port injection.
