Source for awning in Canada?

Hi, I'm looking fro a source in Canada for a Fiamma Awning to replace the one we lost on our trip, as i explained here..... http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/27296640.cfm
I've contacted some Roadtrek dealers & they can't get them in. Is there an alternative that is similar in quality? It would seem to me that they would be fairly common, but it doesn't seem to be the case! Thanks, Gary

  • The Fiamma distributor for the US and Canada in in Florida. You can order direct from them.
  • Why don't you contact a rv dealer south of the border and have them order and install, pay at the border after claiming.
  • I think AK49er is on the right track, GoWesty handles a lot of Fiamma stuff, especially sizes geared for the VW campers. Awhile back, I tried getting info from the Fiamma website and my impression was that they prefer to work thru dealers, of which there aren't many handling their products. Their people just kind of seemed to not be really interested; GoWesty is a consumer oriented outfit so I think you might do well with them.
  • Hi and welcome to RV.net

I had a Gearspace 34 shipped door to door from the USA. It was in a 5 ft square crate. For a Fiamma awning, depending on the length it should not be too bad. I paid a total of about 800$ fees to ship & clear it through customs. Cost is based on value My unit was $1500. Door to door is easiest but it does add a lot to get one from Stateside. My Gearspace 34 ended up costing me about 2500$CDN for a unit with net cost of about 1500. So not cheap. You could try contacting Triangle RV in Sydney on VCI or the Arbutus RV dealers. Sometimes a awning becomes available. Also check USed Victoria/Vancouver etc or Ebay as sometimes you can find what you need in For Sale sections.Good luck.,

  • Thanks for the suggestions. I'll check them out on Tuesday (Monday's a holiday here). I was under the impression that the freight/brokerage would be be a deal killer though. Hopefully i'm wrong.
  • Try GoWesty, they are located in CA, maybe they can help.
  • Why not order direct from Fiamma? They have replacement parts, new etc. and ship to Canada, any dealer can do the same.
