We're going to be making this drive in eary September, was just curious about the route and the scenery. We'll be doing this with a 44' Diesel PusherThanks Trap

I90 to Ritzville, 395 south to Tri Cities, I82 south to I84 to Portland area, I 205 south to I5 south. Not really much to look at except miles and miles of freeways until you get into the Columbia River gorge where you can see a lot of nice waterfalls.

The route suggested by Google Maps is about the best way without going way out of your way. Very pretty too! Interstate 90 to 395 South West on 30/84 over to interstate 5 South to CoburnI would highly suggest bypassing Portland by using South 205 around the city. Interstate 5 through Portland can be a nailbiter!Easy Sailing as it is all good roads and light traffic excluding rush hours around Spokane & Portland.Good Luck!Ron

What everybody said to I84 but take 95 south to Bend Or then 126 to Springfield to I5 to Coburg. Very senic and good roads- mostly two lane. When in Coburg try Coburg Pizza Co. Really good pizza.Tom

That is a beautiful hwy into springfield! Done it once, and have always said I gotta do that again! Loved it! Not the fastest way, but a very beautiful way. Of course the Columbia Gorge is pretty, and the fastest way, but always a serious head wind going west down the gorge. You will loose mpg along there with your foot in it all the way. Be sure to take the 205 cut off to bypass most of Portland although 205 can back up as well, but many fewer lane changes than going to I5.
