Saw a Sprinter based View with a headlight out. Asked if ic could be changed from under the hood and he said No, Had to Go to Dealer. True? If so, Yuck! He said he'd just had it in there for service...

I had that exact thought. Fleet. Easy. Made me think of the (Toyota, I think...) salesman who wanted to show how easy "maintenance" was by taking the headlight capusle out and reinstalling it. Of course he ran his oily fingers all over the glass part...
Then again, there ARE a few owners who shouldn't be licensed to pull the hood release.
