It is not a complicated fix and shouldn't cost too much to repair. Basically they have to pull the axle out, clean the gasket surfaces, remove the old paper gasket, replace with a bead of silicone seal, let the silicone set up, refill the differential, and you are good to go. They don't even need to pull a wheel. It may take an hour to do and about a bucks worth of materials to complete.
