Squeaky hubcap

Are my hubcaps possessed? I took off the front caps the other day. After putting them back on, the right one squeaked every revolution of the wheel. I took it off and put it back on again, and it stopped it.
Today we drove 400 miles, and the other one is squeaking.

As far as I can see, it is on tight. So was the other one.
  • Normal and not noticeable unless you are going kind of slow and have your window rolled down.

  • Wheel simulators also like to squeak and groan. Another reason why I leave them off.
  • I had a set of ARE wheels with a small hubcap that covered the lug nuts on a 3/4 ton chevy van. These things would make all kinds of noise, mostly a clicking noise. I came to the conclusion that the wheels were flexing enough to make the fit between the wheel and the hub cap chatter. Drove me nuts for a while trying to figure out what was making that noise. Good luck.
