Starter Capacitor - Air Conditioner

Question: My rear air unit will not come on with generator power or outside 120. The fan works. Could this be a starter capacitor? Is the fan separate from air unit wiring?

Front unit works fine. I have a "Comfort Control Center" Duo-Therm.

Thanks,

  • Sounds like what happened to us on a very hot trip to Virgina. We had one go out about 5 years ago, had it checked out and fixed by a HVAC tech. I bought an extra one from him "just in case" I needed one on the road. Some of the cheapest insurance I ever have bought, it still resides in my "parts" bin in the basement of the Phaeton.
  • Yes, very definitely can be the start capacitor. They cost about $20.00 and are easily replaced,
