I got my four corner weights the other day, shortly after getting a fill up (90 gallons) with diesel (~8lbs/gallon):
Lft Frnt: 4450 Rgt Frnt: 4200
Lft Rear: 8350/2 Rgt Rear: 8200/2
So my left side is a little heavy, probably due to the wet tanks being on that side. I'm going to have to do something about that to help avoid 'cupping' type tire wear on the fronts. Move some stuff over to the right side and keeping the tanks empty while I travel should do the trick.
The tires I've been looking at on Amazon lead me to almost an exact 235/80R22.5 replacement @ $235ea. It's a 255/70R22.5 made by Double Coin of China. I did a pretty thorough investigation of DC years ago and they have a pretty good reputation. Even being a favorite tire of major European trucking companies. Been in business since the 1930s I think?
Just a few percent off of exact width - 8.5% larger; and considering the -2% diameter, that gives the revs per mile a +2% rating. So close as to not be important.
I'm wondering about all those shops that insist there's no replacement for the 235/80R size other than Michelin, at $450 each?
