Steering problem

Question

I have a 1994 Itasca 34 foot with chevy chassis I replaced the power steering pump because when I step on the brakes and put it in gear I loose steering. Put new pump on still the same problem also noisy pump like air I have no problem just turning the steering wheel alone. Was thinking about changing the hydro booster it may be by passing in side has any one had this problem?

some of the hydro boosters have a bolt on tom of the to bleed the air out

I think you are in the right direction going after the hydro booster.

The Hydrobooster has a large screen in it that can become gummed up with debris. But, it can be cleaned out too. But then the question is, where did the debris come from? I have also heard the screens can break up from age.

There are also 3 large 'O' rings that can need replacement. It's not at all difficult to work on, but put a catch tub under it if you pull it apart. I left mine in position mounted on the frame, removed the MC, and then pulled out the guts.
