steering problem

I have a 2003 National Tradewinds with a Spartan Chasses . I was taking it to storage awhile ago and started to make a left turn and had to abort the turn because it felt like I didn't have power steering. It was ok on right turns. I drove it a short distance and the steering was ok both left and right. Any suggestions anyone. Someone please give me a simple answer.
  • What year is the Jag...I've restored XKE's and 2 XJ12's....they were just superb the 1 day a year when all was right...I can't tell you all the trials of having to do the things I did...but to this day I have pictures of them...Just remember, the only reason that the British don't build their own TV sets is because they still haven't figured out how to make them leak oil.
  • Just came back from an outing up in the hill country. No problems steering left or right. Going into the shop tomorrow to be checked.
  • I agree, start by changing hydraulic fluid and filter(s). Any metal in the fluid?

Be sure to use the fluid speced by your chassis maker. Some use ATF, some hydraulic fluid, some motor oil. Not a matter of better or worse, just what your system was designed to use.

I just hope it's that simple my friend. I'm beginning to think I can't afford a motor home and a Jaguar at the same time. :R

better hope its not trash because the only place that comes from is internal metal part failures; On a more serious note the pressure sensing valve could be sticking; Try changing the oil and filter before anything
But yes if your jag is as old as the MH is they can both have costly failures

If it is the pressure sensing valve would this affect only one direction of turn ? I had exactly the same thing happen about three years ago on left turn only but I don't remember what the problem was. Going out to the motor home tomorrow and see if I can find the paperwork.
