I just jumped here from reading answers to my mewbie post about MH's, TT's and 5ers. This is also an option I am considering. Getting a full size passenger van and yanking out the seats and making my own Class B. I don't need all the amenities of the full size biggies just for overnights and maybe some traveling. Being a women, I can build somethings but would need to have electrical work done. And maybe a higher top, But then garge would be out. And up here in MIchigan, winters are long, cold and snowy. It's going to be interesting to see how you make out with yours. I'll post pictures if I go that route, but for me it won't be till fall when I can order the new 2011 unless I come across a good low mileage used one.
