The Webasto exhaust is kind of loud once it gets into the heat stage. Sounds like a mini jet engine. I bet in a otherwise quiet campground the noise would really be exacerbated. I'll be install a muffler before I'm done.
The ticking noise is from the fuel pump. It's a "pulse" type pump. I made a simple bracket with rubber padding to isolate the pump noise from being transmitted to the van body but the sound is still getting through so the bracket will need some improving.
Inside the van the heater itself doesn't make that much noise and with the doors closed it gets nice and toasty. This is going to make a
huge difference in my early/late season camping.
I hadn't thought to check the amp draw but that's a good idea. I'll do that when I test it next.
I did measure the fuel outputted by the pump.
45 "clicks" on the Webasto dosing pump gives you approximately 3cc's of fuel.
