"Stop" Dash warning light

I checked my manual and it has a section on Dash - Indicator Lights.
For STOP ENGINE it says:
A severe out of range condition exists within
the engine protection circuits. Pull over and
stop as soon as possible. Shut-off the engine
to avoid damage to the engine or related
systems
So indeed it sounds like getting the fault code from the system is the place to start.
