Taken from weekly newsletter RVtravel:
"We reported some weeks back that a court had ordered Elko County, Nev., to return $167,000 seized from an RVer traveling through the state. Straughn Gorman was stopped by police, his vehicle sniffed by a drug-detecting dog. No hits, and Gorman was turned loose. Police stopped him again a few minutes later, this time found his money and confiscated it. Since Gorman had committed no crime, the court ordered his money returned. Not the end of the story — the U.S. attorney in Reno has asked the court to reconsider the decision. The state also wants to skip out on paying Gorman's legal fees — $153,000 worth."
Sometimes I'm embarrassed to say I'm an American.
