I note that Winnebago and Itasca have this feature. The basement compartments under the slide go out with the slide, so one does not have to crawl under to access the compartments. I haven't noticed...

My Fleetwood has the compartments that come out with the front two slides, with a pass thru compartment under the bedroom slide. I haven't had any problems with this set up. I just watch how much weight I place in them, but they handle most of the items I need them to hold. A convient feature is the driverside slide has a small door in the front of the slide which is exposed when the slide is out. This is great for putting fishing poles or a fold up ladder in the full length area of the slide. Since my rv has this type, my opinion of course would be that I see no reason to avoid RVs that have this set up.
