I got no problem with that.....or at least just a little one or two. ;-)
"Cheap" chargers are more likely to suddenly fail. If they fail in a manner that the output voltage goes UP you could have a problem.
The ON duration might need to be adjusted a little if, for instance, the charger is low capacity and the battery is LARGE.
p.s. I have no idea why you think it will make any significant difference at what time of day, or temperature, the run time is set for.
