Two of my filters are up in an area that is practically impossible to access with any wrench that has a side handle.
I use a cup style wrench that's normally used on filters with lugs on the bottom. The filter canisters are thin enough that you can drive the cup on the bottom, then use a long extension and 1/2" breaker bar to loosen the filter.
Once the filter is off just tap the cup wrench around the edge to get it back off the filter.
