I've used emery paper or the non-skid tread material inside the strap type wrenches to make them grip better on slippery filters. Once they get a little grease or oil on the inside they seem to be useless on tight filters.

I'd use a 1/2" drive strap wrench. Get one with at least a 1" high fabric strap.
Drop down with a 18" 1/2" extension to a 24" breaker bar. Consider using a quality anti-sieze on the new filter gasket.

I use a heavy duty one from NAPA. It has 3/8 and 1/2 socket adapters. With extensions and breaker bars you can move anything. It works best when clean.

I have the Channel locks, too, but you must have some clearance to get at the filter.

x3 on the chain wrench. The problem with a conventional strap wrench, wrapped tubing, etc. is that they just won't work if there is any oil or road grime.

Got the Channel-Locks too, but they require more space to bite and turn

Harbor Freight oil filter wrench.

Get this one, unless it's like my truck and the oil pan was molded to surround 60% of the filter. A strap wrench is the only thing I've found to work on it.
