Not necessarily...I pull a 22' enclosed trailer behind our 40' motorhome which makes us 65' long. With that length and a 150 gallon tank, I always go to truck stops and fill at the truck pumps.
I have asked questions about the pump operation to a few different truckers, and they have been helpful as to the procedures at that particular station. I have never had any of them make a rude or disgusted comment to me.
Some don't act friendly, but I interpret that as being that they wish they were cruising the highways for fun rather than having to rack up miles for a paycheck.
I always pull ahead after fueling, just like the truckers do.
