There are a couple of things that you can check, first is to make sure the edge connecters are clean, second is to check and see if the board is putting out the 12 volts needed to activate the solenoid on the forth try.
It would seen to me that the thermostat is working, otherwise the furnace would not try to start. That leaves either a really weird valve or a bad board. I vote for a bad board.
Most RV shops have a test device to check the boards but they may not duplicate the thermostat starting and stopping four times.
