Suches GA

Hello,
I will be traveling to Skeenah Creek campground in Suches GA from Delaware. I will be driving a 35 ft class A motor home pulling a trailer. I will be coming down rt 81 through Virginia towards Roanoke. My question is if someone could give me the most "pleasant" drive into this area. I can stay in Tennessee and come down from the north or go south through North Carolina and into Georgia and head up. What worries me is getting on a windy mountain road for miles and miles when I could have stayed on a better driving road. Time is of no matter nor is milage. I'm sure someone has been in that area and could give me some tips on which roads to take.
I will be leaving on June 18th.
Thanks in advance for any and all replies.
Have a great day!
Vic

I would take I-81 to I-26 to I-40 west to US 23 which feeds into US 74. After Murphy (5 miles) take 60 south to the CG. The last 5 miles south of US 76 on 60 is a little windy but not that bad.
  • The last time I was up there, all roads leading to Suches were windy mountain roads, very popular with local motorcyclists.
