I would like to remove my vinyl tiles and carpet in my MH and replace with wood-look vinyl. I have read that Home Depot has a vinyl product called Allure that some have used in their RV. It makes a floating floor with an adhesive strip that you can stick the pieces together.I worry about the adhesive getting soft when stored in the Florida heat of summer.BTW, I would like to put the wood floor down in the main cabin plus the slide out. Not exactly sure how to install at the point where the slide meets the main floor.Anybody done this and have words of wisdom? Also, not totally sold on Allure, but haven't heard of any other product used in a MH.

I've read others review of Allure both good and bad. Some love it, some think it's junk and not good for an RV. Best I remember when I was in the market to replace our carpet, I read somewhere that Allure actually recommends NOT to use it in an environment that is not climate controlled all the time.We decided to go with a product called Flor carpet squares. They too are floating and can be replaced one square at a time if you spill something or it becomes damaged. We removed all the furniture ourselves...and I do mean ALL, except for the cabinets....tore out the original carpet/padding and had a carpet installer to put in the carpet squares. We couldn't be happier with the result.

I used Pergo snap-together flooring to replace carpet. Didn't do slide though. Pergo is thick, about 5/8 inch, so if you decide on it make sure slide will clear the flooring when going in/out. Did it 7-8 years ago and absolutely no problems. Love it!

I used Allure and have been happy with it ... but I live in the NW which isn't Florida. It's not that expensive - looks good - and easy to install.

They do post temperature limits on the regular Alure so in storage in an area where it gets hot in the summer that might be an issue. We put down Alure in a rental unit and the adhesive was not all that good even though we used a heavy roller on the seams.I have read that the company now makes an Alure with snap edges rather than adhesive.In our motor home we used Armstrongs best quality laminate and it held up great for 6 full timing years.

Call me old fashioned but I like the carpet in the salon and bedroom. Much more sound deadening and much warmer on the feet. We never wear shoes inside so getting it dirty is not a issue.
The floating floors look nice but hate the feel and sound of them. Very cheap imho

Allure here. Seems to work quite well. Make sure it's floated and leave a small gap on one side for expansion.
I know a person who put it in a 5th wheeler who left it in the Arizona summer and when they returned in the early winter all was well. But remember just about any flooring will expand or contract with temperature changes.:)

Ditto. Get the Grip Strip version and don't fasten anything through the vinyl into the subfloor. Leave a 1/4" around all edges and penetraitons.

When we replaced our carpet we went with Lumber Liquidators vinyl planking that looks like stone. We live in Tampa so temp can be an issue, but I don't know if that would be an issue or not. When you decide one thing is to determine how much you let it float. We left ours to float to its heart content and we now have a few gaps in some spots. The BH said leave it and we use some rugs:) I believe there are some old threads on this forum or maybe escapees talking about Allure installs. It was fairly easy to install and we did it in a few days. We would do it again just to get rid of the carpet.

I looked at allure and personally think its micky mouse (just my opinion) I have done two 40 diesel pushers with Vinyl planking and
very happy both times;; Lots of work as I installed new sub floor first and then you have hand glue the system in place;
I also did genuine hard wood in a older 97 39 ft no slide gulfstream
and genuine hardwood in the main slide on current 08 DP

Allure is specifically not recommended for a RV installation or where the installation is not climate controlled. Read the directions carefully and decide for yourself.
