When we were looking for a new motorhome we considered both the Itasca Suncruiser and the Winnebago Adventurer. The Suncruiser listed for about $2,000.00 more than a comparably equipped Adventurer. We asked why and were given the same answer from all the dealers. It's simply a difference in interior and exterior color schemes.
Not liking that answer we contacted Winnebago Customer Relations. We were given a list of the differences. All in all the color schemes were the main differences. There were a couple other differences like badging and a trim piece here and there.
When we started negotiating with the first dealer they didn't care which of the two we were interested in. The final price was the same for either. Not liking that tactic we checked out several different dealers. By in large we found the same situation. For some reason the Itasca motorhomes still carry a list price of several thousand dollars over the same model Winnebago motorhome equipped with identical amenities.
We finally found a dealer that did differentiate between the Itasca and Winnebago models. The best part was they were several thousand dollars below any of the dealers we talked to previously. We chose the Adventurer, not because of the price difference, but rather because we liked both the interior and exterior colors better.
