I'm getting the impression here that some people might think a DC run compressor refrigerator uses the same energy as a DC absorption refrigerator. That is not the case. A compressor refrigerator runs about 5 watts when running and an absorption refrigerator runs over 15 watts. With a compressor frig you'll run maybe a third of the time. That's not a lot of wattage. A propane refrigerator electric powered controller is going to use 1 to 2 watts. I've had two three-way absorption refrigerators now and I think I mentioned this already but the DC mode is worthless and can't seem to keep a frig cool. I've given up on that mode. That's why my next frig will be an AC/DC compressor frig.
