Swinger

I am looking to buy my first RV, and this one looks interesting. (Yes this is my budget)

Anyone have anything good bad or otherwise to say about this vehicle?
Seems like a nice vehicle for the price
....I appreciate any input as I am a literal newbie.

thanks!

  • What happened to the other one you were looking at?
The one that the moderators didn't like, lol

get it then you will be a real swinger.

    hah!--but once can't swing without slides :R
  • thanks gary....and, --i of course don't know what i'm talking about, but it's hard to believe that most RV buyers only consider vehicles with slides.
  • Looks nice...be aware that even though 10K seems like a good price, reselling it will be difficult without a slide. Most RV buyers won't consider a unit without a slide.
  • I first read the title and thought this thread is going to be fun,lol

    edit;
    different rv
  • OK, good advice....i will def do a cold engine listen.
    thank u!!
  • Before you buy it,make sure you listen to the engine stone cold. Those 460's are notorious for leaking manifolds. If you hear a steady click click click when starting cold that means warped manifold and you'll need headers. I use to have two of them.

The Swinger looks clean and in good condition.
Check for any roof leaks, stains etc.. A small leak can ruin the vehicle if not repaired fairly quickly.
A big thing is the tires. Check the age from the date code on the side of the tire.
RV tires usually age out before they wear out. Don't go just by tread depth.
Most RVers replace their tires between 6-10 years.

If you're not familiar with recreational vehicles, consider hiring a mobile RV tech to inspect the unit before you give the seller any money or sign any agreements. It will be a couple hundred dollars well spent.
Make sure everything works before buying any RV.
