I strongly suggest an inverter. A residential refrighator uses less power than you may think. An inverter will provide plenty of power . You can get a 1000 watt sinewave inverter that has an internal transfer switch so it automatically passes through shore or generator power if available. Just make sure it is a sinewave inverter rather than modified sinewave.
