My big question is when is a good time or mileage to switch over to synthetic? i have heard many different mileages/times. Any good thoughts? I currently have 13000 miles on my C-7 pulling a heavy ra...

You are right and wrong at the same time. Yes, Oil is Oil, however some Oil is highly contaminated, some is highly pruified, some is highly refined some is not.. This is why there are different brands and prices, Oh, and some is recycled and some is not.
Amzoil is a LUBRICANT, it is not oil, it is synthetic. So it is a different critter entirely,, Takes the place of Oil though, Mixes well with Oil though, but it is not oil since it never came out of a hole in the ground.

amsoil uses a base oil. No oil regular or synthetic is created in test tube. They ALL use oil as their base. It is oil not a lubricant.
