It's not hard at all to coke oil in a rv. You know the chant to let it idle for some amount of time when getting off the freeway before shutting it down. That kind of heat and absolutely burn oil straight to carbon.
As for the detergent level of synthetic vs. regular oil. I havent heard of a single synthetic that isnt high detergent (Again, you know the chant when swapping to synthetic after running regular oil, be sure to replace the filter as it could plug up). You have to hunt for regular oil that is considered high detergent. Most brands are not.
Show me a Onan generator that doesnt use a high detergent oil.
