You need to go over to
Bob Is The Oil Guy Forum and do some research. #1, you want to find out about the word "synthetic" as it relates to motor oils in this country. Just because it says "synthetic" does mean it is. But if it is a European oil, synthetic is synthetic! I use to haul bulk oil out of refineries, and some I could not leave without the oil being analysed by the lab, while other said get it out of here. When you can buy Mobil 1 off the same shelf at the ridiculously low price they sell it for, why are you buying a unknown oil made by anyone who bids low enough. I do not believe Super Tech "synthetic" oil can meet the specs to be a synthetic oil in Europe. Most likely a highly super refined Group III with mineral oil base. The FTC allows them to call it a synthetic when it isn't. All came about when Mobil and Castrol got into it over what was considered synthetic. Castrol got to call their Hydrocracked Group III oils "synthetic" while it is in reality a Hydrocracked super refined dino oil called synthetic. True synthetic oils contain Polyalphaolefin or Esters which are 100% Synthetic chemical compounds.
