Tail lights & sidemarkers are out...brake lights work.

thanks in advance guys and gals!!

RV: 1997 Newmar Kountry Star 37' p53 v-10 ford chassis

On a recent trip I noticed on the outgoing leg that my brake lights are working but my taillights side markers were not working. This is a new problem I've checked all the fuses inside the RV. I looked in the generator compartment but could not find any fuses in the generator compartment. I have seen people post that there are some fuses in the engine compartment in the rear primarily on diesels I don't know if this is similar on front engine gas. Any ideas for help is appreciated.

Thanks again,

Jason
  • Just a dumb question on my part, but have you checked the obvious?
    Bulbs?
  • Another thing to check is to actually look at the filaments when you think you have brake lights. If you do not have a ground on the bulb, the current goes through the thick brake filament, but then can't exit on the ground, so it then goes through the thin filament and across to the other side and through that thin filament and out. If you are actually seeing the thin filaments glowing, you have a bad ground at the bulb.
  • Brake lights and taillight/ clearance lights are two different systems.
They are powered by different fuses.
    Does the headlights work?
Have you checked Both Ford fuse blocks?
