Tankless Water Heater, good and bad please

Hi All, Our Motorhome has a tankless water heater, We have never had a tankless one before, Any advise on using these? I was told it's best to control the temperature with the temp dial on the bathroom wall instead of normally with the hot and cold dials in the shower. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

  • Most of the time we would have full hook. I have heard a lot of complaints about setting the water temperature. I guess we will play with it and see how it turns out. It is only a propane fired water heater, I found this out when we took our maid voyage, and no hot water, that is until I turned on the propane, then there was plenty. but we were dry camping so we really couldn't test everything out as well as we would have liked too.

    I thought I knew everything :B What is a "Tip Actuator" :h
  • Great for a long hot shower. Just depends on if you are using stored water on board or hooked to water and drain service.
  • The main advantage is that you can have unlimited hot water. How much flow at hot depends on heater BTU.
Main disadvantage in RV is that heater will not work with low flow, so you have to open faucet widely for it to start.
Like most of the choices in your life - you have to get used to new technology.
I think I would like it on my classA with 100 gallons of fresh water, but in my camper with small tanks, I have tip actuators and that heater would not work well with them.
