tehachapi loop??? update
Is old hwy 58 from the Keene exit doable in a 35 foot class A? We are spending some time in Bakersfield and would love to see it. Decided to take the rental car to see the loop. very cool trains co...

I'm a bit of a train buff and always wanted to go see the Tehachapi Loop after driving by it many times.
So we went to an RV park in Tehachapi for two days so I could go watch the trains.
Guess what...they were repairing the railroad line and there were no trains running during daylight hours, just after dark. Never saw one stinking train.
I also went to the Iowa 80 truck stop one time on a cross country trip. It's the largest truck stop in the country.
I wanted to see the old trucks in their museum. Guess what. The Museum is closed on Tuesday which is when we showed up.
I could go on and on but you know how it goes.
