The Continuing maintenance saga
This year on our trip north about 250 clicks north on the Caesar Highway in B.C we hit a bear. Barb saw him first, I got off the gas and placed my foot on the brake, He was standing up watching us approach, I'm slowing the coach down thinking she was taking pictures. I'm now doing less than 20 MPH. he is about 50 yards from us, when he drops to all 4s and starts across the highway, now I'm standing on the brake, cars coming, I can't get over and BANG.
We get stopped look all around and can't see him, he is simply no where to be seen. So I get out to survey the damage. the lower right hand corner of the front cap is smashed I had to pull the Bra off to see the damage. Well, It's just cosmetic, replace the bra and continue the trip.
Now we are home, call the insurance company, (Result) they will pay for the part and I'll do the labor in lew of the deductible.
So I call Newmar parts, and order the part. (it is a bolt on part of the bumper system)
It requires 4-6 weeks to make the part and shipping, 4 weeks to the day it arrived, it is the left hand.
I called Newmar, Oh we are so sorry, we will get the correct part right out to you.
4 weeks to the day it arrives, It is the left hand.
I'm back on the phone, Newmar response ? "Oh My God this is ridiculous, I'm going over to our vender and see what is going on"
an hour later I get a call, the vender made one of each R/H and a L/H last you ordered. the correct part is in shipping as we speak.
5 days later we have the correct part. :)
Remember it isn't that any one can't make a mistake, it is what you do about it.
NEWMAR stayed on this with us and made it right and paid shipping on all parts both ways, we found later the vender had the part numbers crossed on the molds left to right.
