The search continues off to Fla.

Saw a couple rvs on the net in Florida that I would like to see. I need to go to Virginia to look at mobile homes for our park and figured I would keep on going to our family vacation home in Daytona beach that I haven't been to in a couple of years. I will use that at base camp and do day trips to look at the rvs I want to see. So far the two I want to see are both Country Coach Allure's. One is a 36 the other a 40.

Bought my 98 Eagle rust free 51/2 years ago. Was always either an Alabama or Florida coach.

After 5 1/2 years of ownership it is still rust free and we have always had it stored on the east coast.

Rinse, rinse, rinse = one happy motorhome.

Since you are in Daytona, check out Quality Motor Coach in Apopka. He buys very clean units, is a straight shooter and is very knowledgeable about heavy vehicles as he is a lube truck manufacturer in addition to an RV dealer.
  • just saw an interesting thread her on air bag failures. it said:
"This follows a NHTSA investigation into six reports of airbag inflator ruptures that occurred in other vehicles, all of which happened in Florida and Puerto Rico. "
    blaming humidity.

Here we go again with the "watch out for corrosion from Florida" mantra. Do people think that every person and RV lives on beach? I can show you dozens of RV's in Florida that don't have a speck of corrosion on them. RV's that travel in the north and upper mid-west during the winter will have a much greater chance of having corrosion than the average RV in Florida. In fact down here in the South we say "watch out for the RV's from up north". I saw some horrendous corrosion issues when shopping for FW's and the MH at dealers here in Florida, every one was a trade-in from up north.

well I did see the inside of a cars trunk from Puerto Rico. Not a pretty sight.

  • We have a 1986 Mercedes 420 SEL that is kept in Fla. Purchased new in Fla. for whoever is down there to use. The last time I looked it had over 200k on it. There is not a speck of rust on it. It is driven on the beach hauls salty, sandy chairs and toys around. My son just spent four years in college in Vt. he has a little rust on his rocker panel.

If I were going to buy a DP the 36 ft Allure would be on the top of my list. Good luck in your search.
