Some time ago I purchased an extended service contract, third party provider, on my vehicle. The small print, which I missed initially, indicated that they may use second hand parts. Well, when my engine management computer croaked, they found a used one for $75.00 and installed that, charging me the $100 deductible. It was no better than the old one, as they all had a common fault after a certain time/mileage/useage. Big fight, I lost. I had to buy a new one, over $1200 out of pocket. Then the auto climate control panel went south. Again, a used one was provided, which looked like it had been run over with something. The mechanic actually refused to install it, and I was finally able to get a better used one on my own.
Do not, under any circumstances, ever buy a third party contract. You will be sorry. Just my 2 cents.....
