The "switch" question

Having problems with the so called salesman switch, for those who missed the last 100 threads, it's the battery cut of switch inside the entry door.
Some previous threads have talked about a solenoid bypass. My question is, can I just do the bypass at the switch?
There are lots of wires running into each switch in this 8 switch panel, would seem to me that hot to hot would solve the problem.

Too simple or am I missing something.

FYI and not brag but we are in Dawson City mm 1 on the AlCan, North to alaska tomorrow!

    NO, you can not.. THOUGH if it is the SWITCH and not the SOLENOID there may be a very, and I mean VERY!!!!! easy fix.. I will describe it

    Kill power to the switch Eithr pull the proper fuse or disconnect all batteries (both sides) and then....

    Cycle the switch 50-100 times

    Restore power and see if it works

    But bypassing the switch will do no good as it is the SOLENOID that is the "Real Switch" that button you push is a remote.

    It's the relay that fails, not the switch. It's a simple fix ... mine has been trouble free for 4 years since I jumpers the relay.

    Quick answer NO. The switch activates a relay in your run bay in the outside compartment under the driver. The quick fix is to move both hot leads to just one of the posts on the relay. This bypasses the relay which is what really fails. Then you can just shut off the salesmans switch or remove one of the small wires that turns the relay on from the front of the relay and tape it off.
