Back? VW never stopped making the Transporter, it just evolved.
It is now in its 6th generation. The last model imported into the U.S. was fourth generation, 1990-2003 T4, the first to go front-drive. What VW has been showing lately is a somewhat smaller microbus to be built on a compact car EV platform shared with a hatchback and a crossover SUV.
