Appreciate all of the great responses. Also wanted to give you an update.
The owner of the repair facility has agreed to repair/replace all of the damaged or missing items in the Coach. He realizes that his service tech did in fact leave the door unlocked. There were about 15-20 Coach's in the lot and the suspect went through the lot checking doors, and I drew the lucky straw with my door being the only unlocked one in the lot.
My Insurance Company (Blue Sky) was very willing to open a claim and go toe to toe with the repair shops Insurance company. The claims adjuster put it this way. Had the dealer secured the Coach in the lot and locked the door and shown due diligence in taking care of the Coach, then my insurance would have kicked in. The fact that they were negligent and left the door unlocked changed everything, putting responsibility back on the shop.
The good news is the suspect is in custody and all of my property was recovered. Bad news is that the suspect took about $1000 worth of alcohol from the Coach, which was recovered intact as well. Bad part was the police department can't keep this in evidence and it all got poured out. I had just done the Bourbon Trail route this past summer and had some Makers Mark and a few others in the Coach.
The dealer said they would replace all the missing stuff. You didn't get the booze back. Don't they owe you $1000?
