In my coach I had a zone 2 sensor that was behind a small white plastic grill. The sensor itself was just a bulb on the end of a wire.
The Zone 1 sensor was actually the thermostat itself. My thermostat was located on an exterior wall and constantly gave erroneous readings.
I took the thermostat loose and mounted it with a piece of 1" styrofoam behind it and the temperature control was a lot more accurate in my coach.
