Actually 141 to put in a new water filter does NOT sound out of line by all that much. 125/hr for the labor 1 hour minimum and 16 bucks for the filter tax included.
THey are soaking you on labor though. Lots of this stuff is DIY and easy no need to pay 125/hr.
By the way I charge about 100 - 125 / hr if I don't like you when I work I'm trained to do.. (Which is not often)
Now if I like you... one cup hot coffee (Black) is the going fee (Since I don't drink beer). Just so you know. but some jobs (Like changing batteries) I won't do yours Heck. I can't even do mine!! (Well not the house batteries I need to do the chassis soon).
