We are considering buying a Class C. We have a 5th wheel Flagstaff classic super lite 26-28ft. depending on how you measure. We have loved the Forest River RV's, but we are having problems finding the right fit. We will not buy a Thor or Jayco(bad issues with these in the past) We have found one or two that are an options, but I don't want to look back see there were better option. We have to have one that does not have a folding bed, we have to change out the mattress every time we buy. No longer than 30 ft.That is our limit to park in our drive. I want some potty space. I hate to be on the potty and smash my face to pick up a lost roll of TP. I am 5'3 and tired of getting"bulldog face" slamming into the potty door. Right now the Sunseeker 2860DS looks like it would be "OK", but the cooking space is tiny. Does anyone have any suggestions we should look at before pulling the trigger?

IMHO Class C's are VERY expensive for what you get. You might want to look at smaller Class A's. I'd start with the Camping World used RV list that can be sorted by length or price.

Bathroom shower area is pretty fair sink is across the hall. Kitchen area is about average for the size. Big thing is the horseshoe dinette which I hope to get rid of soon. It is a 28ft B+ as we dont have any kids to carry (grandkids dont want to go yet) so look at them. The Jayco Melbourne is the wifes favorite and has had some good reviews. I liked it because of the driver area. electric seats a little more open, but like most B+ has little in way of outside storage. Itascas are basically the cheaper winnebagos but have seen some that would meet your needs.Remember all are a compromise to what you want, we went from a TT to this vehicle as a 5er was just not an option. I wanted to be able to put stuff in the bed of the truck! If you dont need the overhead bed look at the B+ where you dont have that big sail in the front some have storage space up there also. Just some thoughts.

Take a look at a used 27 ft. Coach House on the Ford chassis, they are very well made and have excellent layout. New ones are too expensive, but a ten year old with low mileage would be reasonable cost and since they do cost a lot when new, the owners usually take very good care of them. Check their web site and see it any model has appeal, quite a few are available in the southern states since they are manufactures in Florida.

I also like Leisure Travel Vans and although they are expensive, you get what you pay for! I kind of like the "Wonder" built on the FORD Transit Cut-Away chassis because it has a stronger diesel than the Mercedes Sprinter, gets better fuel economy, and actually has two cup holders and I don't see cup holders on the Sprinter videos. However, the Sprinter can tow 5,000 lbs and the Wonder on the FORD, 3,000 lbs. I think the Wonder would be a great highway cruiser and perfect for a couple! Pleasure Way, another Canadian mfgr. is also a high quality MH. Bags.

WOW! looked at the Coach House. Thank you, we had never heard of these. Wow! They are beautiful. I can't find a price on new or used without calling. I will do more investigation. We want to keep our house and travel 1/2 the time. So we will have to watch the budget. We will absolutely do more checking. Love these.

We had a 2007 FR 2860DS bought used. For the most part it was a fine unit. Yes, you need to be creative in the kitchen but DW. got good at it. Then again it was mostly the two of us unless the grandkids joined us then all bets were off.

As far as the mattress - let say good luck with it. There about the cheapest POS you can find. A topper worked for awhile then we replaced it.

I don't know if FR still offeres the outside kitchen still. We saw one at a show and like DW said that would be the way to go if we had kids again.

Seriously I would have bought an "A" but she was afraid to try to drive one. Didn't make any difference as she only drove it about 25' when we had it. I think she is up to 10' on our Bounder now!

Take a look at some of the smaller A's though. You might be surprised what you find.

My searches on RV Trader lead me to believe that Class A and Class C are about the same price per foot, but you get more basement storage with a Class A and my wife has a lot of shoes. LOL. Besides that, I think generally a Class A can tow more behind it. The negative is they might be a little harder and more expensive to get service on the motor/drivetrain.
