thinking about buying Coachmen Miranda silver edition

I finally drove a class A. It was a 30' coachmen 2014 with 10,600 miles ford V10. Felt like the front end was all over the road. Before we buy it could I get your thoughts on this one?

Thanks
Nels
  • Nels, on the one hand coachman is the cheapest of the cheap, and Mirada is the cheapest of the coachman.

On the other hand they are all ford f53's and a new one shouldn't handle so bad...

Test drive a number of new and used f53 based coaches. Is it that coach, or more a question of you and what u expect versus what this chassis is giving you?

If it is you who are looking for more, you might test drive a couple diesel pushers, just for fun
  • Thank you all for your responses. They were really helpful. We have decided to hold off till fall before we start looking again.

    Safe travels

  • ford chassis gas , You. move the front sway bar to center hole. I would suspect that the coach you drove needed a front end alighment. A way to check this is while driving let go of the steering wheel if the coach goes left or right , you need a alighment.

My Mirada was like that, I did the "CHF" cheap handling fix - it drives great now.

What is this CHF? What class A's does it apply to?
  • I have a 2014 Coachmen Mirada 35DL that I bought new. I did have the Safety Plus installed on it and I do not have any problems with the steering.

  • Mr. Mark, Thanks for your reply. The price is 69K. I would not buy it unless they would fix the front end.

Teachers Pet, Thanks for your reply. When I found out it was by Forest River. I told wife "i don't think so" as our first rv was a forest river 5th wheel. That was bad. We had it 6 months and traded it for a Carriage 5th wheel. Been out of the rv for a couple years and thinking we might get back in.
Thanks again everybody, tou folks are the reason we want to back into RVing.

  • Have bought two used Coachmen products in the past, won't give them a third chance at me, especially since the merger with Forest River. Go for a Winnebago, Tiffin, Monaco/Fleetwood or Nexus product, you'll be much happier a year from now.
  • Nels, I'm just wondering why you would consider buying something that drives like you explained here.... "Felt like the front end was all over the road"?

Look around more and find one that drives right.

Am I missing something? Is the price that good?
