Carpet has came along way from 12 years ago.
Some carpet you can pour bleach on and won't stain.Now they have water proof carpet.
Vinyl planks and tiles are good.But they will not warranty it in a rv.Main reason is the freezing cold.Laminate is Ok.But once scratched from slides or whatever it looks bad.
If your set on a hard surface I would go with luxury vinyl tile and use epoxy grout.
But do small sections of grouting at a time .It is hard to clean up when it dries.
