Thor ACE ahead of the competition

I just saw the new ACE 29.3 online. It seems like the ACE is staying ahead of the pack with innovations in this class of RV.

What I really like is the outside kitchen with the full wall slide. Other plus is the 1000 W inverter.

I am hoping that one will be on display at Hershey next week. Anyone else see one yet?

Please don't hijack the thread Thor bashers.
  • "vjstangelo".....You don't even own one and you're already defending the posts about it being a poor product. Sounds like you've already made your mind up and now you're looking for justification to look past the poor quality.

You get what you pay for. Look at the Fleetwoods, Tiffins, Newmar and Winnebago lines, before you settle for the Thor.
  • they had a review on the big diesel pusher thor sells I think a Tuscany, In motorhome mag last month. Biggest complaint was qulaity control, fit and finnish itms
  • Well, I've looked at irv2 and there are complaints for sure, but also complements and people satisfied with their ACE. One thing comforting is that most complaints are merely fit and finish associated with the cab, easily fixed. No delamination due to water damage or major structural issues. Also no complaints about the F53 chassis.

We've had 2 ACES a 29.1 and now a 29.2. Love both of them. No real issues to speak of and Customer service is fantastic. It's an entry level coach, just to be clear, but we love it. The Palazzo is giving Thor a black eye, but the ACE is a solid entry level MH.
  • I'm not a Thor basher, just a former owner, I bought a new 2013 Thor Ace 27.1 I owned it for 3 months, of which 1-1/2 months was spent at the dealer's getting things fixed. Every time I took it out some new problem appeared. I traded it on a 2013 Winnebago Vista 27N. Not happy about loosing the money but very glad to be rid of the ACE. The ACE had very poor handling, wandered all over the road even after weighing and adjusting tire pressure and an alignment and “cheap handling fix.” The fit and finish was poor, lots of rattles and bangs. Here’s a partial list of the problems I found after driving a few hundred miles. Exterior: Upper clearance lights full of water. Molding pulled away by driver’s mirror, entry door, and wheel openings. Decals bubbled and pulled away along belt molding, both sides of coach. Rear license plate light didn’t work and was loose. Mechanical: House battery cut out frequently, would not take full charge & drained fast. Interior: Water leaked into left front on driver’s side wall when driving during and after rain, water dripped in from curtain rail, water came in around screws in lower part of fixed part of driver’s and passenger’s side windows. One of the pocket doors came off track and jammed blocking entry into bedroom, the rollers had ripped out of the door. Upper wall trim between pocket doors and hall came off. Shower wall was loose and where it met the pan had gaps in the caulking. Toilet was loose and rocked. Vinyl flooring was cut between entry door and kitchen. Go to the website IRV2 and check the Thor Owners Forum. Lots of problems.
  • We have a 2014 Thor ACE 30.1 and love it. Thor cust. service has been great. Thor has some issues with the Palazzo and that's what I believe they are getting a bad name from. From what I've read most of the ACE owners are happy... :)
  • there have been a lot of negative comments about Thor coaches and their service lately. No experience myself. Do your research.
