Thor ACE owners - what have you used "mudroom" for?

They make much of it but it doesn't seem very usable. The space is big but the opening is small. You really can only reach into it while standing outside. If we traveled with a cat, it might make ...

Shoes, muddy hunting boots, dirty rags until they are washed, other messy stuff that I just want to throw somewhere until a get around to it. We find it to be very useful and one of those clever Thor features that causes me to wonder, I wonder if anyone else thought of that?
