At the end of November my wife and I are going out west and be on thr road for at least a month  going to visit grand canyon  National Park.  Any other suggestions after that

  • Monument Valley. There are two or three RV parks there. One is on the reservation, don't know what's involved in getting a spot there. The newest one is my favorite. It's on the highway, which has very little traffic.

Mesa Verde NP in southern Colorado isn't too far from Mon. Valley. Watch the weather for snow at that time of year.

All five NPs in Utah aren't out of the question, plus Utah has many beautiful State Parks that are more beautiful than many NPs.

Chaco Culture National Historical Park in Northern New Mexico gets great reviews, but I haven't been there yet.

Also, Canyon De Chelly National Monument is in N Arizona, not to far east of GC.

All of the above, incl GCNP, are between 4,000 and 9,000 feet elevation. Snow and bad driving conditions are very possible, even likely, in Nov and December.

  • The problem here is no one knows where you are starting from and what route you may be taking. For instance, I may recommend  something in Albert Lea, MN when you might be starting out from Savannah, GA and never be within 1500 miles of MN. So lets let’s not waste each others time.
