Thor Miramar

So been ogling the Palazzo for a while and despite it's entry level cost for a DP, stil a bit of a stretch financially. While poking around I stumbled on Thor's new Class A offering, the Miramar. By all appearances this looks like a Palazzo with a gas engine. It has a residental refer, bath and half floorplan (among 2 others), 22.5" wheels, a 242" wheelbase, huge inverter, pass through storage, auto start gen, the list goes on and on. Looks like it can be had for right around $100k. Pretty good bang for your buck. That's $40-$50k less than the Palazzo. Granted it does not have a DP or freighliner chassis, but seems like most of the other perks are there. With those wheels and wheelbase I imagine it rides better than most of the gasser compeition in it's price range. It won't have the power or MPG that a true DP would have but at 22k# it's not too much of a pig either. Anyone know much about these?

I am not familiar with that particular model, but am aware of similar ones offered by other manufacturers. It is probably on the new Ford, F-53 chassis with the 6.8 liter, 365 hp version of that engine and with a five speed transmission. We were fulltime in a 1998 Cruise Master with that same power platform but with only 275 hp & a four speed transmission. In ours I did have an upgrade with the Banks performance package, but I doubt that you will need it for this one. We owned ours for 14 years, 12 of that as fulltimers and never had a major repair problem. We loved it!

I got the banks power pack in the newer 08 F-53 and will have to say its worth it, it performs almost like a diesel, lots and lots of power..

So would the larger engine do anything for mpg?

I just looked at the specs and floor plan. I like the full basement storage(rather the doors swing up rather than sideways), 100 gal freshwater tank, full wall slide in the 35 model. It looked very similar to the Daybreak.
