RobbieH,
I think I might be able to answer a few of your questions; at least based on similar issues I've had with mine.
1. I had the same problem last year with the error. I was also having a problem with my house batteries discharging WAY too quickly. When I took it into the shop, they connected the shore power and had the same problem with batteries discharging too quickly. They ended up removing the batteries, charging each one separately, then tracking the voltage of each one once they were disconnected. It turned out that one of the batteries was bad. When they were connected, the bad battery would constantly leach off the good battery until it drained all of its power. I believe the E02 error was just a low power warning from the inverter, because I dont think I've had a problem since replacing the two batteries with good units.
2. For the generator auto start, look at what the settings on the auto-start unit control unit are set to. There are several dials which control run time, min-voltage limit to initiate an auto start, etc. Mine is located in the storage bin next to the stairs.
3. For charging the house batteries on shore power, you just need to make sure the coaches "Main" power switch is on when you're plugged in. Mine is located at the bottom of the stairs on the left side. If it's not on, the shore power will power the coach, but not charge the house batteries. I made this mistake a few times when I first bought the RV and after having it plugged in overnight, the batts were not charging.
Finally, as for the overheating issue. Could you explain exactly what you meant by that? Did the engine literally overheat (coolant boiling over, etc.)? Or did the engine temp gauge just move higher than you expected? If it was the latter, I'm almost certain that is normal operation with this truck/drivetrain. I had that happen a few times (engine temp needle getting a bit closer to "H" than I was comfortable with), which was a bit alarming. But after I did some research, I found that this was a common thing with the 6.7 motor and part of the way the cooling system works. Google the topic and you'll find several forum posts of people that had the same concern, only to find out it was normal.
Anyhow, hopefully I answered some of your questions.
